I try to offer as comfortable a space, or as productively uncomfortable, as the moment calls for.
​I work from a trauma-informed, narrative based approach, filtered through a strengths based lens that builds on what you're already trying. Additional strategies I tend to use come from:

What to Expect First Session
First things first - uncertainty, nerves, "what on earth will this hour look like?!" is normal - especially if this isn't a process you've tried before.
First appointments tend to be 45-60 minutes in length. We meet, we review informed consent and we start getting to know your story. I have lots of questions that can guide that initial appointment as we work through this. If at any point you are uncomfortable, or want to skip a question, you can always say so. We'll round out by making a bit of an overview of what our working together could look like, and planning any initial next steps, before re-booking.
